Universal Primary Education was one of many eight international Millennium Development Goals, in the path of which progress has been made prior to now decade, though obstacles still remain. Securing charitable funding from prospective donors is one significantly persistent problem. Researchers on the Overseas Development Institute have indicated that the main obstacles to funding for education include conflicting donor priorities, an immature aid architecture, and an absence of evidence and advocacy for the difficulty. Additionally, Transparency International has recognized corruption within the education sector as a serious stumbling block to achieving Universal Primary Education in Africa. Furthermore, demand within the creating world for improved educational access is not as high as foreigners have anticipated. Indigenous governments are reluctant to take on the continued costs involved.
